Nina Totenberg Narrates "Girl from Birch Creek"!

Several weeks ago we recorded the narration for '"Girl from Birch Creek."  We were thrilled that Nina Totenberg of National Public Radio agreed to read the narration; and she did a wonderful job, breathing even more energy into the documentary.  Thank you, Nina Totenberg, for doing such a great job.

Appearance on "One & the Same"

On May 25, 2012 John and I were guests on the cable show "One & the Same" hosted by Judge Judith Tilsen.  During the hour long show we talked about various aspects of producing "Girl from Birch Creek" and told the story of Rosalie Wahl and the women's movement that made her appointment to the Minnesota Supreme Court possible.

The program will air at various times throughout Ramsey, Washington and Dakota counties.  Hope everyone gets a chance to see it.

Publicity for "Girl from Birch Creek"

In March I was featured in an article which appeared both in the Marine on St. Croix Country Messenger and the St. Croix Valley Press.  The article mentions "Girl From Birch Creek" as the current project I am working on.

Searching for a Narrator

We are in the process of scouting for voiceover talent and have sent our final rough cut script to several actors and voiceover talent to determine their interest and needs with regard to doing the narration for the film.  We will keep you updated on developments.

Matt Ehling of ETS Pictures has joined our team!

We're proud to announce that Matt Ehling of ETS Pictures will be the on line editor for "Girl from Birch Creek" and will assist us in several aspects of post production on the film.  Matt comes highly recommended and I worked with him several years ago during production of my short narrative film, "The Egg Timer."

We have already had an excellent editing session with Matt and he has come up with fantastic suggestions for the final on line edit.  We are certain Matt will be a tremendous addition to our team!

Final Cut!!!

I've just finished a final cut of "Girl from Birch Creek."  It's 70 minutes long (excluding end credits) and the pacing and story are very close to what I have envisioned since the beginning of the project!

I love the film, the story and the subject -- my personal hero, Rosalie Wahl.

I will now be working on a separate cut of about 50 to 55 minutes for the film to be used in classrooms and conferences to tell the story of one woman who was able to bring about enormous change in our judicial system and society.

I will be finalizing a script based on the long cut to send to prospective actors and voiceover talent to proceed to the next stage of post production.

We have decided to change the name of our film to "Girl from Birch Creek."  The other title was a bit hard for people to get their ears around:)
